This Refund Policy applies to Swarajya AI Private Limited and any Swarajya AI-deployed citizen service application that accepts payments. The swarajya.tech marketing website does not accept payments and does not sell goods or services; this policy is published so that the relevant URLs are in place when individual municipal applications begin accepting payments.
No Refunds on This Marketing Site
The swarajya.tech website does not collect payments. There are no transactions associated with this website, and therefore there are no amounts to refund. If you believe a payment was incorrectly attributed to this site, contact hello@swarajya.tech and include the transaction ID and amount.
Per-App Refund Policies
Each Swarajya AI-deployed citizen service application will publish its own refund policy at /legal/<app-slug>/refund when it goes live. That policy will cover:
a) Eligible refund scenarios
- Failed payments that were charged to the citizen's account but not processed successfully
- Duplicate charges for the same service request
- Service-failure refunds where the government scheme rules entitle the citizen to a refund
b) Ineligible scenarios
- Successfully delivered digital services where the service was rendered as requested
- Non-refundable government fees as defined by the relevant municipal authority or scheme
- Statutory charges such as GST or local levies remitted to the government on behalf of the citizen
c) Refund timelines
- Eligible refunds are processed to the original payment instrument within 7–14 business days, in accordance with applicable Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines
- Government-scheme refunds may take longer depending on departmental processing timelines
d) Refund methods
- Refunds are returned to the original payment instrument (bank account, UPI ID, card, or wallet) used for the transaction
- Where the original instrument is unrecoverable, an alternate method as permitted by applicable regulations will be used
Government Fees
Statutory fees collected on behalf of a government body — including property tax, certificate issuance fees, licence fees, and similar charges — are remitted to the relevant municipal authority or government treasury per the applicable schedule. Once remitted, such fees are generally non-refundable.
Refund requests on statutory fees are handled per the receiving municipality's own refund and reconsideration rules. Swarajya AI will assist citizens in directing such requests to the appropriate authority but cannot independently authorise refunds of government-remitted amounts.
Failed-Transaction Reversals
Payment transactions that fail at the gateway level — where the citizen's account is debited but no service confirmation is received — are reversed automatically by the payment aggregator (Razorpay, Cashfree, or the applicable gateway). Automatic reversals typically complete within 5–7 business days.
No separate refund request is required for a failed transaction. Citizens can monitor the reversal through their bank or payment app. If a reversal does not appear after 7 business days, contact hello@swarajya.tech with the transaction ID.
